Journey Prep School’s convenient, central location offers the best of both suburban and urban worlds. Farmingdale is an historic, still thriving village on the border of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Students from both Counties, as well as Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and around the globe, make up our student body.
Our location provides easy access to major highways and airports including JFK, LaGuardia, and Long Island’s McArthur Airport. The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is in walking distance, just blocks away. Farmingdale boasts a State University of New York (SUNY) college. Shopping, restaurants, and entertainment are just steps away.
A $36 million community sports complex is being built directly across from the school, with an aquatic center, a track, and fields for baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and football. There are other schools, both public and parochial, in the neighborhood.
The handsome brick building itself is well built, well maintained, and well appointed: three floors, with 24 large classrooms, offices, a large gymnasium/auditorium, a stage for dramatic productions, and a full kitchen and cafeteria with seating for 600 persons.
